TERMS AND CONDITIONS

 

Thank you for choosing Sweet Samantha Cake Design to provide your cake/cookies for your celebration. Please see below the Terms and Conditions of our agreement. 

 

Payment, cancellations and refunds.

 

A 25% deposit is required within 48 hours of your invoice being processed to secure your booking.

The balance is due one (1) week prior to the cake collection/delivery date (by 5pm 5 days prior to your order being collected/delivered). All alterations to the booking, including size, colour, flavour and toppings, must be confirmed at this time. Any requests for changes less that one (1) week prior to the collection date may incur a further fee. 

 

We understand that life doesn’t always work out exactly as planned. If your circumstances change and you need to cancel your booking, please let us know as soon as you can. If this is more than seven (7) days prior to the event date, Sweet Samantha Cake Design will happily credit your booking fee to another date within six (6) months of the original event date. If cancellation occurs less than seven (7) days prior to the event, the full fee is payable. 

 

*Additional COVID clause *

 

In the event of cancellation due to COVID restrictions:

If work on your cake has not commenced, you will be entitled to a full refund (Minus what may have already been spent to date on your order. For example: custom toppers, embossers, florals and other decoration pieces) OR your deposit/payment held and your order transferred to a rescheduled event date. 

If your cake has been started/finished, your cake will need to be collected or delivery arranged. Should you then wish to freeze your cake I will provide correct and food safe instructions on how to do so.

 

Sickness, accident & Injury

 

In the unlikely event that Sweet Samantha Cake Design is unable to fulfil your order for reasons including but not limited to, illness, accident or injury, Sweet Samantha Cake Design reserves the right to cancel the order and will refund all monies paid by you relative to the order with no further compensation payable to you. We will endeavour to help find a suitable replacement company for your order but this is only subject to their availability.

 

Allergies, dietary requirements and special notes

 

You, the client, assumes all responsibility for informing guests that the cakes – unless dietary requirements were specified at the time of booking – may contain traces of eggs, soy, dairy, wheat or other allergens. Sweet Samantha Cake Design will happily work within your restrictions; however, it must be noted that the kitchen processes these known allergens and cross-contamination may occur. Sweet Samantha Cake Design takes no responsibility for personal injury to the client or guests occurring due to consumption of our cakes or cookies. 

 

Whilst all efforts are taken to ensure florals are free of contamination, please remember that they are NOT a foodstuff and are not to be consumed. 

 

Delivery, set-up and hand-over. 

 

Sweet Samantha Cake Design would be pleased to deliver and set-up your cake at your celebration. This service ensures your cake is safe during transport and secure at your venue. Delivery fee is from $20 and is based on distance travelled and the required time of delivery. We are happy to assemble florals from your event florist; however, this does need to be arranged prior to the event. 

 

We will not take responsibility for the security of your cake, including the impact of temperature, after we have left your venue. Please remember that cakes are delicate items and need to be placed in an area that will not encounter rowdy guests or high weather events (including rain, direct sunlight, or wind). 

 

High temperatures can adversely affect your cake. Please keep the ambient temperature around 20-23 degrees celsius. If it is a particularly warm day, your cake would do better inside in the air-conditioning.  Buttercream cakes should be kept in the refrigerator and removed a few hours prior to serving so that they may return to room temperature for best enjoyment. Fondant cakes should be kept in a cool room and not refrigerated.

 

If you or your representative elect to collect the cake from our Ascot Vale kitchen, you assume all liability and responsibility for the condition of the cake once it leaves our premises. Cakes travel best in the empty footwell of your passenger seat, with the air-conditioning on.

Photos, Media and Socials

 

Sweet Samantha Cake Design reserves the right to use any photographs or videos of your cake for promotional purposes without specific permission or compensation to you. If you wish for your cake to not be shown on social media, please indicate this at time of booking. No footage of your children or guests will be used without express written permission.

 

Complaints and Compliments

 

The team at Sweet Samantha Cake Design want you and your guests to be 100% satisfied. If you are unhappy with your cake in any way, please let us know via email to sweetsamanthaxo@gmail.com, within 24 hours of your event date. Negative feedback allows us to improve our service provisions and procedures to ensure our customers are receiving the very best product, each and every time.
